On January 27, 2019, we celebrated Poshi Poonam at the Fairbridge Inn and Suites. This auspicious day is to celebrate the moment when Bhagwan Swaminarayan held a grand ceremony where He initiated Mulji Sharma into sadhu-fold as Gunatitanand Swami. The effects of that ceremony would change the world forever. Gunatitanand Swami spread the glory of Maharaj and left us with important principles. His Swami ni Vaato is still applicable today.
Today’s celebration commenced with two narrators coming onto the stage. Dressed as farmers from that era, they outlined the history of Gunatitanand Swami’s life and explained that Gunatitanand Swami was no ordinary saint. He was Mul Akshar himself. The farmers showed this by reciting memorable stories from His life.
The event continued with a discourse given a youth who highlighted how Gunatitanand Swami’s life was filled with seva, swadharma, and katha varta. Next, another youth gave a discourse highlighting Gunatitanand Swami’s dasatva. Gunatitanand Swami took advantage of every opportunity to serve those around him.
The event concluded with a video of Guruhari Hariprasad Swamiji giving blessings. In the video, Swamiji explained how Gunatitanand Swami had infinite power, infinite knowledge, and infinite ability. Despite all of this, He lived His life as Dasna-Das. We too must live our life as Dasna-Das.
